The objective of this discussion is to learn more about Bulgaria’s language and its surroundings. I have learn that Bulgarian is a language on its own and it is written in Cyrillic alphabet. I have read somewhere that Dimitar did not like it when they called him “Dimitri” as he is not Russian but Bulgarian. In regards to that, I have some questions:
1. Is the Cyrillic alphabet identical to the Russian alphabet?
2. Do Bulgarian and Russian languages have similarities?
3. Does Serbia have a language of its own? Do people in Bulgaria understand most of what Serbian people say?
Bulgarian boys and girls… or anyone who knows the answers, please explain. Thank you.
