The fixtures for the quarter finals of the Carling Cup were drawn last week. Manchester United, the current Cup holder, will face Tottenham Hotspur, the other finalist last season and Dimitar’s former club. Well yeah,Manchester lost,but they still have better chances then Liverpool for the big win.
Anyway,Dimitar didn't play like he had to,but they also didn't have to get him out of the match. Congratulations are in order for Dimitar! He is the proud father of a baby girl. His girlfriend Elena gave birth this Thursday October 15 to a 53 cm and 3.8 kg girl by C-section at 7:50 am at the St. Lazarus Hospital in Sofia. There were no complications and the mother and baby are healthy. The girl has been named Dea.

Bulgaria ended with a good result for the last match of the 2010 World Cup qualifying. The qualification was lost the previous weekend and only their pride (and the index for the 2012 Euro qualification stages) was at stake. It was a goal fest; Bulgaria destroyed Georgia, 6:2 in Sofia. Bulgaria will not qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. In fact, the team was humiliated by Cyprus with 4 goals against one scored by Dimitar. The match was held in Larnaca, home of Cyprus. It was only Cyprus’ second win in the qualifying campaign. Dimitar played the full 90 minutes.
