Lazy penalty, easy save! Shocking! Dimitar fully deserves the stick. Manchester United lost the opportunity for an historic Quintuple. Everton beat them on penalties after a goalless draw in 120 minutes at Wembley. Everton will face Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

Ferguson fielded a very weak team, probably due to exertions of the Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday and looking ahead for next Wednesday. In all truth, he fielded team B: Foster as goalkeeper; Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic and Fabio as defenders; Welbeck, Gibson, Anderson and Park as midfielders; Tévez and Macheda as forwards. The match in general was a pain to watch: incredible misses and errors. Cameras focused on Ferguson, probably thinking how inexperienced are his reserves. I am glad Ferdinand and Vidic were there; I feel safe with them and the clean sheet today proves it.

Evra entered in the 63rd minute and Scholes in the 67th. Dimitar played the complete extra time, entering in the 91st minute. Rafael, Tévez and Scholes got yellow cards.

Everton scored four penalties, with Cahill missing the first kicking over the bar. Manchester United only got to try 4 kicks as Dimitar missed the first and Ferdinand missed the second. Both penalty kicks were saved by the Everton goalkeeper. Vidic and Anderson did score.

What the usual reports have to say about performances:

From ManUtd.com: “Dimitar Berbatov (on for Macheda 91) – The game seemed destined for penalties and Berba was unable to prevent the tie taking that route. Carlos Tevez – Scampered endlessly around the Wembley pitch, which must be even worse off for his stud marks.”

From Manchester Evening News: “Berbatov (for Macheda 90 mins) - A good ploy saving him for extra time as United with three big names off the bench and in the fray had a much more familiar look. Clever touches that didn't come to anything. Pathetic penalty 5. Tevez: Typically busy but with all these kids coming on so strongly you can understand the reluctance to pay up to make his loan deal permanent 6. Macheda: Wonder kid making his first start after his heroics from the bench had the first meaningful effort of the game. The 17-year-old Italian who lives with his family in Sale has energy to burn. It is no wonder United made such efforts to woo him from Lazio. Tired after putting in all all-action shift without reward 6.”

From Goal.com: “Berbatov: 5.0 - Came on but had little impact and an awful penalty summed up his afternoon. Tevez 6 - Typical Tevez, effervescent as ever and didn’t give up but it simply wasn’t his day. Macheda 6.5 - Didn’t look out of place and had a strong early shot that flew just wide. Combined well with Tevez and Welbeck but couldn’t continue his fairytale start to his United career with another goal.“

Commentators in my Country say that the first and last (fifth) in the penalty list are the stronger kickers. Well, Dimitar let Ferguson, the team and all off us down.

“He who lives by the sword will die by the sword.” Manchester United had progressed and won things on penalties. Most recently, they won the Champions League and the Community Shield. Ferdinand is spared as the culprit for most fans has he did a good enough job to retain the clean sheet, what he is paid to do.

Hate is what most fans have towards Dimitar. The common feeling on the Official Manchester United Discussion Forum and blogs is that his penalty sums up his season at Old Trafford. It feels like he cost us a Cup final, a shameful attempt at a penalty. Disgraceful and a waste of money is what fans are calling him. A couple of them are asking not to field him again for the main team.

But as The Republik of Mancunia Blog puts it:

“He fucked up today, that much is obvious. But you’re a fool if you don’t think he’s got what it takes to be a winner for United. He deserves to be slated for that penalty, but no more than Vidic does for his performance against Liverpool, or Scholesy for handling against Fulham, or Evans for gifting Porto’s first, or Van der Sar for getting a rush of blood at Anfield or a whole host of other mistakes that go on throughout the season. Berbatov has scored and assisted important goals for United this season and does not deserve the outpouring of grief he will take for his part in our defeat to Everton.”

I just wish this mistake teaches him a lesson about his perceived laziness and he puts his heart out for the remaining matches of the season. I wish he puts 110% effort and scores winning goals to redeem himself. Right, if Ferguson finds the peace of mind to forgive him.

Next match: Wednesday vs Portsmouth for pending match of the Premier League.

Chelsea won the FA Cup at Wembley, beating Everton. The score was 2:1 with goals from Drogba, Lampard and Saha. Remember, Everton beat ManUtd in the semifinals as Dimitar became the scape goat for that exit. Also, Everton's Saha was ManUtd's previous jersey 9.

MOVE ON... its over .. Rio also missed, i don't see people blaming him! .. He is a UTD player, support the guy, if he did not show his worth for some people this year!!!! I'm sure that next year they will worship him. Carrick,Vida,Evra, Hargo all went through the same. The only problem is that people see 30 mil. running infront of them (as if he asked for that price), and blame him for everything. We UTD do not need 11 Rooneyz in the team we've got 1 and we love him. People can't see what positive effect Berba gives for the team, they way controls the game, and BTW he is certainly not LAZY nor SLOW, the guy plays at his own pace, he doesn't need to run around as a headless chicken to prove his worth. One more thing Every1 hates UTD, people will always find a way to make them loose their confident.
