Manchester United won the Carling Cup on penalties. It was a hard fought battle between a young ManUtd side and a first choice Tottenham team. Ferguson bowed to give the chance to the young players who got the team to that final. With this, he ensured a leveled playing field and gave Tottenham an opportunity. It was a good thing that Cristiano came in third, just like in the Champions League final, and better than he scored.
ManUtd will face the Spurs again next weekend for the FA Cup. The next match is Wednesday against Newcastle for the Premier League. The other good news from this weekend: Liverpool lost again, with Chelsea and them 7 points behind.
