CL: Home vs Wolfsburg
Manchester United defeated 2:1 the German Champions Wolfsburg at Old Trafford for the second match of the group stages. It was a difficult match with the visiting side scoring first. Dimitar played most of the game and Vidic played the full match. Manchester is first of group B after two matches, with 6 points followed by Woflsburg and Moskva with 3.
The starting XI was: Kuszczak as goalkeeper; O’Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra as defenders; Valencia, Carrick, Anderson and Giggs as midfielders; Owen and Rooney as forwards.
The first half remained goalless. Owen was feeling pain and was substituted by Dimitar on the 20th minute. Dimitar made the most of that substitution with a good performance. Vidic was booked on the 39th minute for a foul on a rival player.
In the second half, Wolsfburg scored their goal in the 56th minute. Minutes later, Giggs scored with a free kick for a foul on Anderson in the 59th minute. The Germans looked stronger but Carrick scored the second goal on the 78th minute assisted by Giggs; Dimitar was also involved in the goal. Fletcher substituted Valencia on the 82nd minute.

The other match of the group was played earlier with the home side CSKA Moskva winning 2:1 against Besiktas. All the other English sides in other groups won their matches.
Next match is on Saturday for the EPL at home vs Sunderland.
