It was such a thrilling derby with lots of goals. Manchester United won in the nick of time, deep into injury time 4:3 against their neighbors City at Old Trafford. It was time to show which Manchester team is the strongest. It was time to show that money does not buy happiness and a winning team is not build in just one season. United looked stronger and the score line almost did not showed it. Owen was the last gasp hero. Dimitar played 77 minutes and Vidic played the full match.
The match also saw Tévez returning to Old Trafford as part of the visiting team. News during the week suggested he would not make it because of injury sustained during International duty with Argentina. Also, Emmanuel Adebayor, one of the strongest strikers of the World according to Nemanja Vidic, was suspended for three matches because of his violent behavior towards former teammates in last weekend match against Arsenal.
The starting XI was: Foster as goalkeeper; O’Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra as defenders; Fletcher, Anderson, Park and Giggs as midfielders; Dimitar and Rooney as forwards.
The first half started with an early goal for the home side, with just two minutes in play, Rooney scored assisted by Evra. Then, City drew in the 16th minute with assistance from Tévez. Tévez received a yellow card later for a foul on Ferdinand. Then Anderson receives a yellow card for a foul on Tévez. Vidic also received a yellow card for a foul on a rival player (not Tévez). All these happen during first half.
The second half also started with an early goal for the home side, with just three minutes in play, Fletcher scored with a header assisted by Giggs. Then, just like in the first half, City drew in the 52nd minute and Tévez again assisted. Later, the City goal scorer is shown a yellow card for a foul on Anderson. Valencia substituted Park in the 61st minute. Owen substituted Dimitar on the 77th minute. In the 80th minute, Fletcher scored his second goal of the night, the third for his side, assisted by Giggs. Again City drew in the 90th minute with assistance from Dimitar’s Bulgarian teammate Petrov. At this point 4 minutes of injury time are published. Carrick substituted Anderson in the 92nd minute. Finally, in the 96th minute Michael Owen scored the winning all too important goal assisted by Giggs. The match ended in the 97th minute.

It is said that the City goals are product of poor defending, schoolboy errors from Ferdinand produced their third goal and Foster hesitation produced their second.
ManUtd.com: “Dimitar Berbatov Flashes of class and went close on several occasions, but inevitably sacrificed for the in-the-box ability of Michael Owen.”
Goal.com: “Berbatov - 7 - Linked up well with Rooney and was caught in a personal battle with Given to find the back of the net.”
M.E.N: “Berbatov: Had chances to be derby hero but gave Given every chance to be a hero 7”
