ManUtd dinner Gala awards

Last night, Manchester United celebrated a dinner Gala at Old Trafford which awarded the best players for the Club. Vidic won both of the main accolades. He is Player’s Player of the Year and Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year. The first award is voted by the ManUtd players and the second award is voted by the fans on the official website.

Cristiano won the Goal of the Season award for his long long range shot at the beginning of the quarterfinals second leg against FC Porto. This award was also voted by the fans on the official website. Cristiano won those three awards the previous year.

Federico Macheda won the Jimmy Murphy Academy Player of the Year. I am not certain how that award was voted but his last gap winner for the first team vs Aston Villa.

The Sun reports that Tévez did not attend the Gala, even though Ferguson asked everyone to come. It is said that Tévez was caring for his ill daughter. Some others think it is a signal that Tévez will be gone by June regardless of what ManUtd offers him. He has talked to the media saying that the directorate hierarchy and Ferguson had lacked respect towards him and that he do not support entirely Ferguson decisions.
